Advocacy in Darlington currently provides the following services:

  • One to one advocacy support for people with learning disabilities.

  • Self and peer advocacy for people with learning disabilities.

  • One to one advocacy for people experiencing a range of mental illnesses/distress.

  • One to one advocacy for people in residential and nursing care.

  • Advocacy support for children with complex needs.

  • Advocacy support for looked after children.

  • Advocacy for older people.

  • Advocacy for people accessing Direct Payments.

  • Specific developing service for women.

  • Advocacy volunteering opportunities for people who use services.

  • Employment opportunities for people who use services or who have used services in the past.

  • Therapeutic earning opportunities for people who are not ready for full time work.

 

Types of Advocacy range from Representational to peer, from citizen to self-advocacy and we also support groups of Adults.
